Live Your Truth

James Anderson

Abstract

Living the Truth solves every riddle of human existence. It is the key to our health and well-being. We have to align to it and harmonise ourselves around it in order to live it. By doing so, we align also to the evolutionary thrust. We start to manifest our true destiny.

The two most important moments in life are when one is born and when one finds out why. In Indian thought, the aim of life is to achieve one’s svadharma, our unique inner law and mission; attaining this goal depends on realisation of svabhāva, our own true nature. We all have a role to play. It is not so much what we do as what we are. The aim of existence is to live our Truth.

So anyone who lives truly finds the solution to the troubled human play. There are many obstructions to be cleared. It is a practice and an art. The Truth is our natural state. It is what we are in essence, but our conditioning makes it sometimes very difficult to recover. So much of what we do and what we are is borrowed.

Truth and health

Initially, it is difficult to look inside and discern what is true and what is false. Negative influences can easily translate into false habits and erode our health. Living truly, on the other hand, provides the key to happiness and total well-being. Surrendering to it provides complete freedom. Ultimately, Truth is inimical to any ill-health although illness can often become a shortcut to this supreme state. It depends how we use it. The Truth is constantly pointing to a greater harmony and a higher perfection and it is the cornerstone of all Integral Health.

As soon as one decides to find and unite with the psychic being, the door starts to open. This is the individual embodiment of the Truth. It is the divine Person, the evolving soul. And rather than the superficial nature, it is essentially what makes each one of us unique. It is the personal generator behind our evolution. To open every part of our being to its influence is the work of yoga. Like a seed, this Truth is implanted in every feature of terrestrial existence. The process of evolution is the sprouting and flowering of this seed into countless forms. Evolution is prolonged alchemy. The process may take many incarnations, but everyone is offered the opportunity to realise their Truth in this very life.

Integrating our Truth

We aim to become whole so Truth needs to be integrated over the entire being; there are no shortcuts. Separation from the soul brings falsehood that will invariably result in disease. Often we might notice the different sides of our nature in friction but when we enquire through the eyes of the soul they become always one in essence. Truth brings harmony not uniformity; it is not homogeneity but oneness in multiplicity. When the microcosm is one, it lays a tiny but secure platform for the manifestation itself also to become one.

Truly, there is a unique spark within all things, waiting for the right conditions to appear. Right now, the eye of evolution is turning on matter. The body is the crucible of Truth and beneath the inertia it awaits its secret divinity. Its blossoming upon terrestrial existence is decreed. The Truth is dynamic and governs every process unwinding in the universe. Anything false will one day be obliterated. The hour has come: align yourself and live your Truth.
