These online sessions will explore cultural perspectives around spiritism and the immortality of the soul. We address what it means to be a person, a human with a spirit, and a being beyond human life.
The aim is to create a bridge between medical understandings and cultural beliefs which may influence our access to healthcare. Case studies around communication beyond will be offered from India, South America, Africa and Europe. Our examples will explore indigenous wisdoms and discuss spiritist principles around ancestors, the body, health and life.
We shall aspire to develop a wider understanding of human experiences of birth, death, reincarnation, mental health and well-being. We acknowledge issues around domination, colonisation, cultural diversity and health practices. We aspire to support frontline practitioners to better understand their clients, and carers to better understand their family.
